PLANT STORIES & COLONIAL LEGACIES May 2026
Situated in the former grounds of the historic Loddiges Nursery in East London, this participatory project explored colonial histories embedded in contemporary urban landscapes.
Through guided walking, discussions and the use of maps, illustrated collage cards, and storytelling participants examined the Nursery’s role in global plant trading. Connecting historical research with lived experience, the project reflected on how the legaciesof empire continue to form London’s landscapes, plants, and public spaces. This event took place multiple times during the London Festival of Architecture and Open House London in 2025 and the Hackney Histories Festival in 2026.
