WALKING WITH FLO
in memory of my grandmother
A digital photo essay – presented during a workshop at Tate Gallery, London, 2016
“After discovering that Flo, my grandmother, had lived nearby me in Bethnal Green, I walked along those same streets imagining how different her day-to-day life was compared with my own. This photo essay is my imagined reconstruction of the time that Flo returned “home” to the East End from Canada. My grandmother’s life as an immigrant in Canada was not easy and I appreciate her struggle in deciding where “home” was for her.”
